See Sheep Shearing — Purchase Fleece — Enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt
April 14-15, 2017 … 9am-2pm … Admission $8 per person
There are so many sheep to shear this year that we’ve had to schedule it over two days! It’s a great learning experience to watch the process of shearing sheep — fun for the whole family. And you can purchase fleece that you have watched being sheared!
Visit our Brand our Wall!
We have a unique Brand Wall in our Antique Barn! Last year, folks came to our celebration and burned their own registered brands on our wall. During Wool Days, the barn will be open with a fire ready for folks to sizzle and burn. It’s our way of recognizing our neighbors and members of the local community — and celebrating the history and culture of rural Louisiana.
[Right] This young farm visitor from last year’s event is pointing out the brand that was registered to his own grandfather and added to our wall — he’s proud of his heritage!
Easter Egg Hunt
At noon on Friday and Saturday, there will be an old-fashioned Easter egg hunt divided into groups by age (ages 1-4 and 5+). Bring your own basket. Turn in your eggs for a fun treat bag after the hunt!
Admission includes all of the above activities PLUS:
Jumping Pillow and Barrel Train rides(unlimited), fun on the farm playground — Dirt Mountain Slide, Tire Pyramids, photo ops, and a tour of the Historic Farm House. Rubber duck races available for a nominal additional fee.
Our farm concession will be open all day with plenty of food and drinks! No outside food or drinks allowed thru the gate. In observance of GOOD FRIDAY, we will be serving FRIED FISH PLATES in the Farm Concession for lunch on Good Friday!
Mmmmmm, good! The Country Store will be open with Homemade Fudge and Kettle Corn.
