Jackie’s Blog
We are working hard and getting everything ready for y’all to come see us this fall. The design has been cut in the maze and we are watching it grow!
After much wrangling and thought, I finally managed to get a farm fan page up on Facebook! Who woulda thunk it could be so hard?
So, it’s round-up time in the Spring. We’re inviting our friends and neighbors to become Facebook Fans of CM Farms! It’s not about just being neighborly and reading about our farm news — we will be announcing specials from the Country Market, posting coupons, photos and more.
What are you hanging around for? Git on over to Facebook and become our fan!
Ingredients:
6 tablespoons sugar
4 lime leaves (kaffir leaves)
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 pounds seedless watermelon
How to make it:
In a sauce pan, over medium-low heat, add water, sugar and lime leaves. Heat until sugar dissolves and remove from heat; pour in a large bowl and allow to cool. Remove watermelon rinds and place water melon chunks into a food processor and pulse until it becomes slushy. Add watermelon slush to the sugar mixture. Chill 4 hours. Strain and freeze until firm.
Thaw in the refrigerator for 1/2-hour before serving.
